Slow down & then go slower but be on time, not early or late.

It rained all day yesterday. I drove down US-60 in MO and there were nearly zero places to stop and rest.

I found this old motel designed for truckers. It was probably built in the 70's or 80's and is still in use.

I watched an old, old, older truck driver pull away slow and steady from beside my semi. Through his rainy window, I saw his long and curled white beard with an unlit cigarette perched from his mouth. After spending time at some of the truck stops, I got used to watching truck drivers speed around and twirl in tight angles and corners I never knew possible for a semi truck. BUT THIS DRIVER WENT SLOW AND CAREFUL. He pulled around in a steady arch while it drizzled and his tractor and trailer rolled in a tight grip against the slick concrete as it curved around and arched in a wide, controlled turn. I am reminded that slow and careful is the best. We cannot get back our time. Distance requires the amount of time it takes to cross over safe. Tasks take as long as they take. Be thorough and do it as at the best possible ability.

So I was putting on my brace later, and one of the hooks was bent. I thought about how to take time. I decided to change the tiny details and make the best of my tools. SO I FIXED IT LIKE JEWELRY. I repaired something that matters to me and helps me. I took the time it takes to undo each clasp and begin again.
